Police are appealing for information following a collision on the A59 between Harrogate and Skipton.
It occurred at 10am on Thursday 16th April at Beamsley Hill, near Hazlewood.
The incident involved a white Ford pickup truck towing a trailer travelling towards Harrogate, and a white Peugeot 5008 travelling in the opposite direction towards Bolton Abbey.
There were no reported injuries to anyone in the vehicles.
However, the driver of the Ford pickup truck left the scene on foot, heading in the direction of Harrogate along the A59.
A description was passed of a man wearing high visibility clothing.
A short time later, police located the driver with the help of the police helicopter (NPAS). He is now helping officers with their enquiries.
A police spokesperson said:
“We’re now appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the Ford pickup prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage of the driver leaving the scene of the collision, to contact us.
