Independent party retailer Party Fever has announced it will be closing its shop on Station Parade after 17 years.

The business on Station Parade first opened in 2006, offering party decorations, balloons and accessories. It closed its doors earlier this month and told customers via a sign in the window that it was “working to get going again.” However a new sign, written by owner Sue Saville, is now in place announcing its permanent closure due to “rising overheads.” Sue said:
“It’s been a joy to serve the Harrogate community and we have been proud to be among the many independent stores the town’s people have embraced. “Some of you we see every year for family birthdays and have got to know you and yours as they grow from toddlers to teens. “Unfortunately rising overheads dictate that we would need to increase our sale prices or our turnover significantly to continue to serve you from a high street position. So, we have to admit defeat and bow out as gracefully as possible.”Sue added:
“We’ve had some great staff over the years. Thank you all! “A special mention for Jill, Megan and Shirelle, who have been a loyal team behind me and with us for over 10 years. “I know they would want to join me in thanking all of you for your patronage over the years.”The business is moving online and will offer the “best bits” from Party Fever at www.party-studio.co.uk.
