A new science-led healthcare clinic has launched in Harrogate, focusing on prevention through earlier diagnosis and proactive health management.
Cocoon has launched one of the region’s first science-led prevention clinics on Victoria Avenue.
It's expanding its services beyond women’s health into a broader diagnostics model designed to help people investigate symptoms, assess long-term risks and access earlier reassurance.
The clinic offers a range of services including advanced imaging, blood analysis, private GP care and personalised health programmes.

It will support people experiencing concerns such as fatigue, hormonal changes, sleep disruption, fertility issues, metabolic health, cardiovascular risk and cognitive changes.
Founder Sam Naughton said:
“What began in 2024 as a pregnancy and women’s wellness clinic has naturally evolved into something much bigger as we’ve listened to what people are telling us they need.
"We are seeing more and more people who do not want to wait until something becomes a crisis before they are taken seriously, whether that is exhaustion, hormonal changes, sleep disruption, cognitive symptoms or simply a sense that something is not right."
The clinic’s model centres on earlier investigation, including the use of diagnostic ultrasound alongside wider health screening.
This approach aims to identify potential issues sooner, in some cases before symptoms develop, allowing for earlier intervention and improved long-term outcomes.
Sam added:
"What makes this different is our ethos of science-led diagnostics, soul-led care. People want robust clinical answers, but they also want to feel genuinely looked after in premium surroundings, by an expert team, without waitlists and without feeling rushed through the process.
"More recently, losing somebody close to me to cancer made the need for earlier answers feel even more urgent.
"It strengthened my determination to create one of the North’s first spaces dedicated to helping people access that clarity much earlier, with genuine reassurance and a clear long-term plan.”
Cocoon was founded in 2024 as a pregnancy and women’s wellness clinic.
Since then, the Harrogate-based provider has supported more than 3,000 people and seen increasing demand for support across a wider range of health concerns.
The expansion also strengthens the clinic’s leadership team.

Dr Adam Culverwell has joined as Consultant Radiologist and Medical Director, bringing expertise in cancer imaging and early detection, while Kate Ward has been appointed Clinic Director.
Dr Culverwell said:
“Earlier insight can make a meaningful difference, whether that is providing reassurance, identifying an issue that needs further investigation, or helping someone better understand their long-term health risks.
"What matters is making sure people have access to the right expertise, the right investigations, and the right follow-up at the right time.
"By bringing imaging, blood analysis and specialist clinical review together, we can help people gain clarity sooner and make more informed decisions about their health.”
Kate Ward, who has more than 27 years of NHS experience as a diagnostic radiographer, will lead patient experience and clinical pathways.
She said:
“For many people, understanding what is happening in their body can feel overwhelming, particularly when symptoms affect different parts of daily life such as sleep, energy, hormones or concentration.
"Our focus is on combining timely diagnostics with calm, compassionate care, so people feel supported, understood and confident in the next steps of their health journey.”
