New bridal boutique set to open in Ripon A brand new bridal boutique is set to open in Ripon this week. Gail’s Wedding Boutique will be opening its doors in Duck Hill Shopping Quarter on Friday (22nd December). The shop will offer new, sample cut and pre-loved dresses which have been repaired. It’s being launched by Gail Byrne - a seamstress with more 30 years experience and the owner of Gail’s Stitch in Time. [caption id="attachment_93286" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Gail's Wedding Boutique invited models for a photoshoot to showcase the shop's stock.[/caption] Gail started the business after paying more than £2,000 for her daughter’s wedding dress in July. She decided to open the new shop after moving from her previous premises on Skipton Road in Harrogate. She said:
“I bought my daughter’s dress for her wedding and I just thought, not everyone can afford that. “I just thought I would buy dresses second hand, pre-loved and sample cut, and sell them at an affordable price. “The new shop is really exciting and we want to be a big part of the Ripon community too.”[caption id="attachment_93287" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Your Harrogate's Nick Hancock alongside Gail Byrne.[/caption] Dresses are priced with an emphasis on affordability and are all available for less than £1,000. Alongside dresses, Gail will be providing alterations and repair services from the new premises in Duck Hill Shopping Quarter. She also offers sewing lessons and, although they have been put on hold until the New Year, has urged anyone looking to learn a new skill to get in touch. Gail said:
“It’s on the backburner at the moment whilst we get the bridal side of things up and running, but it’ll all gel together when we’re able to secure a larger premises downstairs [in the Duck Hill Shopping Quarter]. “Please just pop into the shop, you don’t need an appointment and I’m not going to charge you!”Gail’s Wedding Boutique will be open from 1pm-4pm on weekdays.
