Knaresborough's Mother Shipton Inn is set to reopen under new management next month.
New General Manager Matthew Chapman has confirmed refurbishment work is underway at the historic pub, with plans to welcome customers back before the end of August.
Matthew has previously managed The Stansfield Arms in Apperley Bridge.
In a statement, he acknowledged concerns raised by some customers about the pub's previous management, stressing that the new team has "no connection" with those who previously ran the venue.
He said:
"We know trust isn't rebuilt overnight, and we completely understand if some people are hesitant to come back. All we'd ask is that you give us the chance to show you what we're about.
"Whether it's stopping in for a coffee after walking the dog, catching up with friends over a pint, enjoying a meal, or simply popping in to see what's changed, we'd love the opportunity to welcome you."
The statement also confirmed the business is recruiting for both full-time and part-time positions across front and back of house.
Matthew added:
"We're really looking forward to becoming part of the community and creating a pub that everyone can enjoy and be proud of."
