Some of North Yorkshire's finest gardens will be on parade this summer when the village of Mickley, near Ripon, host its Open Gardens event.
Taking place on Sunday 14th June, the event will showcase a colourful collection of around 20 gardens in a wide range of sizes and styles, from cottage gardens with old-fashioned floral favourites to modern landscaped affairs with bold architectural features.
The day will run from 11am to 4pm, with a plant stall and ice-creams, coffees, teas, lunches, cakes and scones served in the village hall.
There will also be a barbecue for a spot of al fresco dining.

Patricia Harling, a member of the organising committee, said:
“The village boasts some truly spectacular gardens and June is a great time to see them.
“We have got something to delight and inspire everyone, so we hope that as many people as possible will pay us a visit. The event happens only once every two years, so this is an opportunity not to be missed.”
Entry is £5 per person, with children of 16 and under free.
Due to a poor mobile signal in the village, the Open Gardens will be a cash-only event.
All proceeds will be donated to St John’s Church in Mickley and St Michael’s Hospice.
