Man arrested after stabbing threat at Harrogate Morrisons

A man has been arrested following a robbery at Morrisons in Harrogate.

A man has been arrested following a robbery at Morrisons Daily on King Edward’s Drive in Harrogate.

Police said a man wearing a balaclava entered the shop shortly before 8pm yesterday (15th September) and threatened to stab a member of staff unless he opened the till.

The man took cash and left. The staff member was shaken but was not injured.

A 51-year-old local man was arrested at his home around two hours after the incident on suspicion of robbery.

He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of three additional counts of theft.

He remains in police custody for questioning while the investigation continues.
