The A168 in the Boroughbridge area is closed following a two-vehicle collision.
Emergency services are currently dealing with the serious collision near Dishforth, which happened at around 7:15am.
The collision involved a car and a milk tanker.
The Kirby Hill roundabout and Leeming Lane roundabout will be closed until further notice.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and follow diversions.
Appeal
Police are looking to trace the driver of a green and yellow tractor who is believed to be a witness to the collision.
