Train operator LNER has announced major changes to its services between London Kings Cross and Harrogate.
From December 2025, there will be “significant” timetable changes on LNER Azuma services.
The current 7:37am train from Harrogate to London Kings Cross will not run. This train is very busy with commuters to Leeds and beyond.
Instead there will be trains at 6:35am and 8:33am. Neither of these is suitable for a 9am start in Leeds.
The current 5:33pm from London Kings Cross to Harrogate will not run. Instead the last direct train from London Kings Cross will be the 4:39pm, almost one hour earlier.
The current 9:15am on Sundays from Harrogate to London Kings Cross will not run. The first train will be 10:35am.
A spokesperson for East Coast Main Line said:
“The rail industry has jointly sought to develop the new timetable which will balance the need to grow industry revenue whilst realistically reflecting the services that can be planned and delivered within subsidy and against capacity available on the line of route and is affordable to the taxpayer.”
