Lightwater Valley reveals plans to build on-site accommodation Popular Ripon theme park Lightwater Valley has unveiled plans to build new on-site accommodation for visitors. The adventure park, which reopened for Easter on Thursday (28th March), plans to build 31 new glamping ‘pods’ as part of new woodland accommodation. It will replace the area which was previously occupied by the Treetop Nets on the northeast side of the site. Marketing Manager Annabelle St John said:
“We’re really excited to reveal that accommodation is coming to the site here at Lightwater! "We always get calls from people asking if they can stay on site, so we’re really excited to announce that we have planning permission for over 100 lodges and glamping pods - and we break ground later this year. "It’s a beautiful setting. We’ve got lots of lovely countryside, so it’ll be a great addition to the park."A planning application, which was submitted in July 2023, was approved by North Yorkshire Council earlier this year. Building work is due to begin later this year. But the woodland accommodation isn’t the only new addition at Lightwater Valley. The family adventure park has already unveiled a new ride, 'Jeep Safari', and plans to open family rollercoaster ‘The Rocket’ in the coming days. The soft play area and Valley Theatre have also been relocated and extended. The theatre will be welcoming popular children’s characters Peppa Pig and George alongside Bluey and Bingo for singalong shows. Find out more and book your tickets online here.
