The paddling pool in Knaresborough will remain closed while health and safety concerns are investigated.
North Yorkshire Council says maintenance issues have also been identified at the site, meaning the pool will not open until further investigations have taken place and the problems have been addressed.
Councillors Matt Walker and Hannah Goslow, who operate Knaresborough FOCUS, said:
“We understand this will be disappointing news for many residents and families, especially during this beautiful weather, and we appreciate the loss this is to our town.”
The council says it hopes the paddling pool will reopen as soon as possible and has promised to keep residents updated as more information becomes available.
