Knaresborough Bunny Hunt to return for eighth year

The Great Knaresborough Bunny Hunt is back for an eighth year next month.

The Great Knaresborough Bunny Hunt is set to return for an eighth year next month.

The event, organised by Laura Dudley of Painting Pots, has raised more than £17,000 for charities since it started in 2018.

Visitors to the town are invited to hunt for ceramic bunnies hidden at various shops around the town between Saturday 5th and Monday 21st April.

The chosen charities for this year’s hunt are Saint Michael’s hospice, Andy’s Man Club and The Kingfisher Kiosk.

Bunny Hunt organiser Laura Dudley said:

“This Easter-based event aims to show off Knaresborough while providing local businesses with increased footfall and marketing, provide a cheap event for locals and visitors and raise money for local charities and causes.

“Hopefully The Great Knaresborough Bunny Hunt benefits everyone!”

Participants can purchase a map for the event, created by a local artist, to find the bunnies.

Completed maps can then be handed back to the sellers for a sweet treat.

A winning map is then drawn from that day’s entries to win prizes donated by local businesses.

After the bunny hunt, the bunnies are auctioned off with a certificate of authenticity, raising more money for the chosen charities.

£17,184 has been raised for local charities to date, with Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre, Aspin School mental health fund, Lauren Doherty Road Safety Talks and Memory Lane Cafe among those benefitting.
