King Charles makes surprise visit to Knaresborough Castle

Residents and visitors gathered at Knaresborough Castle today (Tuesday) as King Charles made an unexpected visit to the historic site.

Crowds assembled throughout the morning after news spread that His Majesty had arrived in the town, with many hoping to catch a glimpse of the King during his visit to the castle grounds.

A spokesperson for Knaresborough Town Council said:

“The Castle grounds were buzzing with excitement as people gathered to welcome him, many hoping for the chance to say hello. 

“Residents were absolutely thrilled that His Majesty chose to visit our beloved Castle, and with the sun shining, the atmosphere felt vibrant and full of pride.

“A truly memorable day for Knaresborough, and one we’ll be talking about for a long time.”

He also visited Harrogate Ladies College, soon to be Duchy College, and York, and travelled via helicopter.

No official details have yet been released about the purpose or duration of the visit.
