Harrogate Theatre's popular annual pantomime was recognised as one of the best in the country at the UK Pantomime Awards last night.
The theatre’s latest production, Jack & the Beanstalk, was ranked among the top five scripts nationwide, out of a total of 603 considered.
The show's writer and Harrogate Theatre Chief Executive, David Bown, attended the awards ceremony alongside panto stars Tim Steadman and Michael Lambourne.

The UK Pantomime Awards celebrate excellence across the UK’s pantomime industry.
A spokesperson for Harrogate Theatre said:
“We had an amazing evening at the UK Pantomime Awards last night.
"Our brilliant writer, David Bown, was nominated for Best Script at this year’s awards.
“To have our wonderful pantomime script ranked in the top five out of 603 pantos is such an incredible achievement.”
They added:
“A huge congratulations to all the nominees and to the fantastic team at Lawrence Batley Theatre for their well-deserved win in this category.
“Being nominated was amazing and we’re so proud of everyone at HT who helps make the show what it is.”
This year’s Harrogate pantomime will be Sleeping Beauty, opening on Wednesday 25th November.
