Harrogate women crowned winners at international fitness competition

Champions: Alice Hardy and Hannah Brown.

Two athletes from Harrogate have been crowned champions at an international fitness competition.

Hannah Brown and Alice Hardy secured victory at the ATHX Pro event in Paris on Saturday (25 April), earning them a place at the ATHX World Finals later this year.

The pair qualified for the event after winning the ATHX female finals in Glasgow in 2025, progressing to compete against leading athletes from across Europe.

ATHX is a high-intensity functional fitness competition, designed as a continuous 2.5-hour test across six different zones.

Each zone features a specific challenge, combining strength, endurance, speed, and skill, requiring competitors to maintain performance throughout without extended breaks.

The format is intended to push athletes to their physical and mental limits, testing all-round fitness rather than specialisation in a single discipline.

And Harrogate athletes Alice and Hannah finished top of the standings in the Pro category.

Alice said:

"We wanted this one more than ever. We came with one goal - to win - we left our soul on that competition floor and we did it!"

The pair dedicated their victory to their sons Bobby and Theo.

Alice added:

"Becoming boy mums made us, and gives us the strength every single day to push beyond our limits."

Their latest result means they have now qualified for the 2026 ATHX World Finals, which will take place from 27–29 November at the Lisbon Exhibition and Congress Centre in Portugal.

The finals will bring together top-performing athletes from across the season, with competitors from multiple countries expected to take part.
