Plans for Harrogate Town to build a new training ground at Wetherby Racecourse will be considered by the council.
Leeds City Council has received a formal planning application for the club to set up the proposed £2.75m facility.
The League Two club first announced plans to move its training operation onto land at the racecourse in July.
A public consultation was held on the proposals, which include training pitches and a clubhouse.
A design report said:
“The proposed training ground represents a significant opportunity to deliver a high-quality sporting facility that will benefit Harrogate Town AFC, grassroots football, schools and the wider community.”
A grass pitch and a 3G artificial surface, along with a single-storey building containing changing rooms, a gym, offices and a dining area are planned.
The report by architects’ firm Bowman Riley said the project would be in line Football Association and Sport England guidelines.
It said:
“The scheme has been carefully designed to respond to its setting, address environmental and access considerations and deliver lasting social and economic value.”
Jobs would be created and professional-standard facilities provided, raising Wetherby’s profile as a sporting destination, the report said.
It said:
“The facility will also support the work of the Harrogate Town Community Foundation, whose mission is to motivate, educate and inspire people to improve their quality of life.
“The training ground will generate employment opportunities during both construction and operation, including coaching, facility management and support roles.”
A full planning application from the club and Wetherby Steeplechase Committee is out for consultation until December 31.
