A primary school near Harrogate has launched its first ever triathlon fundraising challenge to fund repairs to its swimming pool.
Belmont Grosvenor has tasked pupils with the week-long running, cycling and swimming challenge.
Pupils from nursery up to Year 6 will be taking part in an attempt to raise £50,000.
The money will be used to fund maintenance works for the school’s swimming pool, as well as refurbishing the changing rooms and the installation of new showers.
A spokesperson for Belmont Grosvenor School said:
“Our swimming pool is enjoyed by our youngest children in Magic Tree Nursery, along with all our school aged children from Reception to Year Six.
“We have a number of swimming schools who teach children all year round in our facilities, alongside a number of local schools and community groups who benefit from our facilities.
“Home to many galas, parties and celebrations our swimming pool is a firm favourite with our whole school and the local community.”
The school has raised just over £1,200 so far via Crowdfunder.
