New research has looked into factors including CO2 emissions and park quality to name the top 10 cleanest areas in the UK.
Harrogate named on list of cleanest places in UK Harrogate has been named on a list of the ‘cleanest’ areas in the UK. As part of new research carried out by Utility Bidder, various cities and towns in the UK were ranked based on various environmental factors. And Harrogate has been ranked at number 7 in the top 10 with a score of 7.01 out of 10. The research looks CO2 emissions, environmental expenditure, city cleanliness, park quality, ‘Britain in Bloom’ groups and ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ groups per 100,000 residents. It also takes into consideration the number of recycling-related searches per 100,000 residents for each UK area. “Living in a clean environment means a lot more than just picking up your litter, as the effects of climate change are now becoming more apparent than ever. “Many efforts have been made over the years to reduce pollution levels and improve aspects of the environment, but which areas of the UK are doing the most to be clean?
