Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Tom Gordon completed Paris Marathon yesterday (Sunday) in support of two local charities.
Tom conquered the marathon in 4 hours, 51 minutes, and 49 seconds as part of his fundraising effort for Open Country and Harrogate Hospital and Community Charity.
So far he has raised £870 toward his £2,000 goal, having selected the charities following a public appeal for nominations from constituents.
But the Paris Marathon is just the first part of Tom’s challenge, as he plans to take on London Marathon on Sunday 27th April.
A regular at Harrogate’s Saturday parkrun on the Stray, Tom is a passionate runner.
He said:
“I’m incredibly proud to support Open Country and Harrogate Hospital and Community Charity — two organisations doing invaluable work in our local community.
“Running is a real passion of mine, and it’s a privilege to combine that with raising money and awareness for causes that matter to people across Harrogate and Knaresborough.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has donated so far — and there’s still time for anyone who’d like to contribute before the London Marathon.”
Donations can still be made to Tom’s fundraising campaign here.
