Harrogate Ladies' College has announced the launch of The Empower Programme - a pioneering leadership and development initiative.
It’s designed to equip Sixth Form pupils with the skills, confidence, and resilience to excel beyond school.
Rooted in the College’s ethos of academic excellence and personal growth, this transformative programme ensures that every pupil is prepared for the demands of higher education, professional careers, and leadership roles in an ever-evolving world.
At its core, The Empower Programme provides a comprehensive Sixth Form package built around academic excellence, with pupils studying three A Levels.
Beyond this foundation, the programme incorporates four dynamic pillars:
- Think – Developing intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Grow – Encouraging personal development, independence, and adaptability.
- Lead – Cultivating leadership skills, teamwork, and initiative through real life challenges.
- Propel – Providing career guidance, mentorship, and university preparation, including Oxbridge, Medicine, Law, and international pathways.

These pillars are underpinned by Flourish, the school’s pioneering health and wellbeing programme, ensuring that students are happy, healthy, and confident to help them excel both academically and beyond the classroom.
Recognising that senior school is both an emotional and intellectual journey, Harrogate Ladies’ College prioritises comprehensive care and well-being, ensuring each student receives the individual support, guidance, and encouragement they need to thrive at every stage.
Bonnie Christie, Head of Sixth Form at Harrogate Ladies’ College, said:
“The Empower Programme is key for our students.
“It not only strengthens their academic foundations but also equips them with the mindset, skills, and experience to thrive in their chosen paths.
“Our goal is to develop confident, capable future leaders who are ready to take on the world with ambition and purpose.”
With The Empower Programme, Harrogate Ladies’ College continues to set the benchmark for holistic education and leadership development, reaffirming its commitment to preparing students for success at university, in their careers, and in life.
