Harrogate District Hospital is inviting local residents to step behind the scenes at two open days next month and discover more about how their local hospital works.
The open days will take place from 10 am to 4 pm on Friday 8th May and Wednesday 20th May, with nearly 30 hospital departments coming together to showcase their services and the vital work they carry out for patients across Harrogate and the surrounding district.
The events form part of the 200th anniversary celebrations marking the opening of Harrogate’s first hospital, the Harrogate Bath Hospital, offering an opportunity for visitors to explore the hospital’s past, present and future.
Visitors will be able to speak directly with teams from a wide range of services including Paediatrics, Pathology, Podiatry and Pharmacy, as well as General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthodontics, Community Nursing and Cardiology.
Those interested in a career in healthcare or volunteering will have the chance to find out more about the wide variety of roles available at Harrogate District Hospital and how to get involved.
Interactive demonstrations, activities and displays will be available throughout the day, including equipment demonstrations, and opportunities to learn practical health and wellbeing tips.
Guests will also be able to meet staff from different departments, learn about their roles, and discover how hospital teams work together to improve the patient experience every day.

The open days will be held in the Herriots Lounge (behind Herriots Restaurant), first floor, Harrogate District Hospital, Lancaster Park Road, HG2 7SX.
