Harrogate residents of all ages are being invited to a series of free community events at The Lounge Café at St Mark's Church this summer.
The café, on Leeds Road, has organised a programme of Tuesday events aimed at bringing together families, older people and the wider community.
The first event takes place on Tuesday (28th July) when North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service will host an interactive safety session from 10:40am.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to look around a fire engine afterwards.
On the first Tuesday of every month, the café will also host games mornings featuring board games, card games, jigsaws, Jenga, Scrabble and chess. Visitors can take part while enjoying coffee, cake or lunch.
A Lego Morning is planned for Tuesday 11th August, with people of all ages invited to build, create and meet fellow Lego enthusiasts over food and drinks.
Café Co-ordinator Pippa Brown said:
"Come and give us a try. You'll get such a warm welcome. Our café has received 'The Breast-Feeding Friendly Award' from North Yorkshire Council and we also have toys, books and Duplo for toddler-age children to keep them entertained.
"Many of our volunteers have had children, or are grandparents, and really enjoy welcoming new parents."
Further events are planned later in the year, including an Indian food-themed gathering in September and a speciality coffee tasting event in October.
All events are free to attend and open to everyone, regardless of age.
The Lounge Café is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer from 10am until 1:30pm, serving food and drinks.
