Harewood House has announced the return of its popular Christmas experience, with this year's event promising to bring the historic mansion's collections to life through an immersive festive adventure.
Magic at the Mansion will take place from Friday 6th November 2026 until Sunday 3rd January 2027 and will transform the House with a series of creative installations inspired by its architecture, history and collections.
Returning creative partner Studio McGuire will once again reimagine Harewood's grand rooms, where historic objects, furniture and festive decorations become storytellers in an experience inspired by the timeless magic of Beauty and the Beast.
The event has been developed exclusively for Harewood House, drawing on the estate's own history and collections to create a festive experience unique to the venue.
A specially commissioned script by Yorkshire writer Christina Lewis has been created following detailed research into Harewood's history alongside Curator and Archivist Rebecca Burton, adding another layer of storytelling throughout the visitor experience.
Zoë Hughes, Head of Public Programme at Harewood, said:
"What makes Christmas at Harewood so special is that it belongs to this House.
"It isn't something that could simply be lifted and placed somewhere else; every story, every character and every moment comes from Harewood's own history.
"Working with Studio McGuire and Christina allows us to look at the House in a completely different way.
"We're bringing stories out of the collections and giving visitors the chance to discover little details they may never have noticed before."
Since launching its first Christmas opening in 2017, Harewood has developed its festive programme into one of Yorkshire's most popular seasonal attractions.
Zoë added:
"Christmas is one of the most rewarding, and busiest, times of the year at Harewood.
"Since we first opened the House for Christmas in 2017, it has grown in ambition year after year, evolving from a new seasonal opening into one of the highlights of our programme.
"It's incredibly special to see how the whole organisation comes together, from our volunteers and creative teams to our collections, visitor experience and hospitality teams, all working towards creating something magical for visitors."
Organisers say more details about the experience will be announced in September.
Magic at the Mansion opens at Harewood House on Friday 6th November and continues until Sunday 3rd January 2027.
Tickets are available from £24.50 for adults and £10 for children, with free admission for Harewood members and children under four and you can get your tickets here.
