Gilbert O'Sullivan announces Harrogate show to celebrate 60 years of music

Singer-songwriter Gilbert O'Sullivan is bringing his 60th anniversary tour to Harrogate later this year.

The acclaimed musician will perform at Harrogate Theatre on Friday 30th October as part of a nationwide run of special concerts.

The tour celebrates six decades since Gilbert released his first music in 1967.

He has enjoyed a career spanning 16 UK Top 40 singles, including his breakthrough hit 'Nothing Rhymed' in 1970.

His best-known songs include Clair, Get Down and Alone Again (Naturally), which topped the US charts for six weeks and earned three Grammy Award nominations.

Across his career, Gilbert has released 20 studio albums and won three Ivor Novello Awards, including Songwriter of the Year in 1973.

His three most recent albums have also reached the UK Top 10, Top 20 and Top 30 respectively.

Audiences at Harrogate Theatre can expect an intimate evening of music featuring many of his best-loved songs.

Gilbert will be joined on stage by acclaimed guitarist Bill Shanley.

The Harrogate date is one of more than 20 performances across the UK and Ireland, with the tour concluding at the London Palladium in November.
