Fun Day in Ripon Set to Raise Money for Local Crash Victims The Community Link are hosting a Fun Day at Ripon Bowling Club on Sunday 17th September to raise money for those effected by a recent crash on the A61 near Ripley including a bus driver and Ukrainian family. The crash, which occurred on Sunday 3rd September, involved two cars and a bus. The police force said that Daria Bartienieva, 35, her son, Ihor Bartienieva, 6, and Daria’s step-daughter, Anastasiia Bartienieva, 15, all died in the crash. All three were from Ukraine and living in Ripon at the time of the collision. Daria Bartienieva's other daughter, also living in Ripon, has now been left with no family and the bus driver was taken to hospital with severe leg injuries. The community link has since arranged this Ripon Fun Day to continue to raise money for those effected. DJ Marty will be providing musical entertainment, with Rob Hutchinson on magician duty. Cakes have been donated by Community Stars. Donations will be accepted though for the day and Minx Creative in Knaresborough are doing face painting as well as donating to the funds. The Community Link are looking for raffle prize donations so, if you can help, then get in touch by emailing: maryse@thecommunitylink.co.uk. Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
