It’s the final day of the Great Yorkshire Show 2023 with visitors returning to Harrogate for one of the biggest agricultural events in the English calendar.
Friday 14th July: What's happening on the last day of the Great Yorkshire Show? Where has the time gone? Today is the fourth and final day of the 164th Great Yorkshire Show. The four-day show has been its usual spectacular self with an estimated 140,000 visitors descending on the Showground in Harrogate throughout the week. This year has seen the show's organisers, Yorkshire Agricultural Society, introduce a number of new additions - but you can't beat those old classics. So if you're heading along to the last day today, what's happening on Day Four? Main Ring: The highlight in the Main Ring today will be the Grand Cattle Parade as well as the judging of Blythewood Beef Pairs. Lizzie Jones is back once again to wow audiences, and the amazing Lorenzo will be riding his horses for what has been a hit with audiences so far this week. The Main Ring will also host the Intermediate Show Riding competition (HOYS), Intermediate Show Hunter, Traditional Cobs, Show Jumping and Heavy Horse Turnout Championship. And then there's the Closing Ceremony too. GYS Stage The GYS Stage has been a popular attraction once again, hosted by presenter Christine Talbot. Today Christine will be talking to TV star Peter Wright, AKA The Yorkshire Vet. This will then be followed by a book signing. Animal Rings: Cattle Rings: Beef Young Handlers, Beef Preliminary Judging of Blythewood, Beef Pairs Championship, Beef Groups Championship, Grand Cattle Parade. Dairy Young Handlers, Dairy Maiden Heifer, Dairy National Young Farmers Competitions, Young Farmers Tug of War Competition (NEW) Sheep Rings: MV & Non MV Classes for – Wool on the Hoof, Interbreed Pairs Championship, Interbreed Group Championship, Open Pair of Ewe Lambs, Open Pair of Tup Lambs. Pig Rings: Butcher’s Pig classes, Young Pig Interbreed Championship, Interbreed Pig Pair & Group classes. Goat Rings: Yorkshire Dairy Goat Show: Goatlings & Female Kids, Parade of prize-winning Dairy Goats, Display of Pygmy Goats. Other highlights All new for 2023, the Innovation Zone will again be showcasing new agricultural technology and research for the final day. There’s also set to be the conclusion of the Sheep to Chic Fashion Show on the Sheep Shearing Stage, hosted by Your Harrogate’s Nick Hancock. The Game Cookery Theatre will be cooking up a storm for today's visitors to sample, as well as the Cheese & Dairy Show and the Great Yorkshire Show Cookery Theatre.
