A free event offering cyber security advice to local businesses is returning to Harrogate this month.
Harrogate-based ASE Computers will host its annual CyberShield event at the Pavilions of Harrogate on Tuesday 13th October.
The event will bring together speakers from Microsoft, Sophos, Check Point, the Cyber Resilience Centre North East and Dragon Defence.
It is aimed particularly at business owners, managing directors, operations directors and internal IT teams, with sessions covering cyber threats, artificial intelligence and secure data management.
Chris Dickinson, founder of ASE Computers, said:
“As a local business owner, I know that many smaller and medium-sized businesses don't have access to dedicated cyber security teams or specialist expertise. Yet they're facing exactly the same threats as much larger organisations.
“We wanted to create an event that gives local businesses access to genuine experts, practical advice and the opportunity to ask questions without having to pay for it. By bringing these specialists to Harrogate, we're helping local companies understand the risks, protect their customers and strengthen their resilience against attack.
“CyberShield is about supporting our local business community. If we can help local organisations better understand the risks they face and take practical steps to strengthen their defences, then the event has been worthwhile.”
Microsoft will explore how businesses can use AI responsibly while maintaining security and trust, alongside a session on secure data management using Microsoft Purview.
The morning programme will also feature presentations from other cyber security specialists, followed by audience questions.
An exhibition hall will give visitors the opportunity to meet technology providers, security experts, robotics innovators and sustainability specialists, with live demonstrations of business technology.
Attendees will also be able to meet fellow business owners from across the region and discuss their experiences with cyber security professionals.
The event operates on a flexible drop-in basis, allowing visitors to attend at a time that suits them.
Admission is free, but places are limited. Businesses can find the full agenda and register through the ASE Computers website.
