The fourth Fat Badger Group and Your Harrogate Charity Golf Day has raised over £12,600 for two local charities.
The event was held on Friday 15th May and saw 22 teams take to the course at Oakdale Golf Club.
This was followed by a Gala dinner at The Sky Bar at The Yorkshire Hotel, where a charity raffle and auction took place.
This year’s chosen charities, Saint Michael’s Hospice and Candlelighters, have both been presented an equal share of the monies raised and donated £6,325 each.
Managing Director of Fat Badger Group and organiser of the day, Simon Cotton said:
“We had an amazing day for our annual charity golf day this year with a sold out event with 22 teams playing in a shotgun start and the weather held out perfectly to ensure everyone had a fantastic day.
"I’m extremely grateful to everyone who put a team in, helped with sponsorship and those who bid generously at the evening’s auction to help riae the amazing amount we did.
"We love to support our local community and put something back as often as we can and having a golf day is a really fun way to achieve that”.
Adam Daniel, Managing Director of Your Harrogate Radio, added:
“Being our fourth year of working in partnership with Fat Badger Group to put this day on, we seem to have managed to create a very slick and efficient day that those attending just love”.
This year’s Golf Day is the fourth joint fundraiser by the two businesses and has now delivered over £50,000 to local charities over that time.
Sophie Fisher from Saint Michael’s Hospice, said:
“What a fantastic day we had, it really was a professionally run event where all those attending had such a great time, we’re so grateful for the support we have received from Simon Cotton and the Fat Badger team and all at Your Harrogate Radio for the publicity for St Michael’s too and we’re delighted to see so much money raised for our local charity which will be so helpful.”
Chris Salt from Candlelighters, said:
“The weather was very kind to us and the guests were amazing and generous and it was a fabulous day from beginning to end and we really enjoyed being a part of it.
"We’re grateful that Fat Badger Group have supported us a couple of times now over the last 6 months and this money is just amazing for us.
"It will help us continue our important and much needed work in helping children with cancer and their families with the support they need.”
