The family of Harrogate resident Patricia Mottahed have organised a 'Play it Purple' golf day at Oakdale Golf Club in aid of St Michael’s Hospice.

St Michael’s lovingly cared for 'Trish' during her final days in May this year.
She played at Oakdale Golf Club for several years and so the charity day will fundraise in her name for the Hospice.
Her daughter, Suzannah Durkin, nieces Karen Winspear and Nicola Stamford and her husband, Matthew Stamford - have sponsored the event through their respective businesses Windsor House, The Big Bamboo Agency and Verity Frearson.
They are aiming to raise a minimum of £10,000.
SponsorsThe family are being joined by teams from Redline Racing, MODA Living, Apollo Capital, Ethos Asset Finance, GH Brooks, Thompsons Accountants and VINCI Building amongst others.
Wealth Management Consultancy, JWH Wealth – a company that helps individuals achieve financial peace of mind – has sponsored the first hole, whilst Resimac, a UK manufacturer of solvent free epoxy, polyurethane & silicone composites and industrial coatings – has sponsored the 18th hole.
Pareto FM, national facilities management firm, has sponsored the half-way house, which will be fully stocked with refreshments – the proceeds of which will also go to the charity.
Friends and family of Trish will also join the event to take part in a putting competition for non-golfers as well as to attend an evening dinner in her honour, where a raffle and auction will take place – the latter hosted by Chris Hanby who has kindly donated his time to help raise money for this great cause.

"They have already put so much effort into making the day a real success and I am looking forward to attending myself.
"St Michael’s is a community driven and funded organisation that relies on the support of individuals, businesses, other organisations, foundations, and the government.
"It costs more than £7million a year to provide our range of high-quality, far-reaching services, and we only receive around 30% statutory funding - so events like this are key to making sure we can continue to do what we do."
Trish’s daughter, Suzannah Durkin, added:
“Mum would have loved that we have arranged this day for her.
"She was so grateful for the incredible care she received at St Michael’s and, as a family, we will be forever grateful to the amazing staff who looked after her in those final few days with such care, patience and kindness.
"My only wish is that mum could be there, but I know she’ll be there in spirit and be very proud of us all.”
