Dog saves owner's life after house fire in Harrogate A brave dog alerted its owner to a house fire in Harrogate yesterday, allowing them to escape uninjured. The fire broke out last night (Tuesday) at around 8:43pm on Harrogate’s Woodlands Avenue. Luckily the occupant was able to get away without any injuries after her dog and her smoke alarm alerted her to the blaze. Fire crews responded to reports of a fuse box on fire that then spread to parts of the kitchen. Station manager Tony Walker said:
“Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough have dealt with a severe fire in a domestic property in the town. “There were no injuries and the cause is under investigation. ”The owner was alerted by her dog and a smoke alarm. Dogs and smoke alarms save lives, every home should have them. Smoke kills.”Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
