Date confirmed for Knaresborough Christmas Market Knaresborough's Christmas Market will return in December featuring stalls, live entertainment and a spectacular firework finale. Taking place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December, the two-day Christmas Market is always a popular event and sees hundreds descend on the market square. The market will include the usual variety of stalls, independent shops, live musical entertainment, a free park and ride and a spectacular firework finale at 4:30pm on the Sunday. A spokesperson for the event said:
"Explore the busy shopping areas surrounding the market – full of independent shops offering speciality items and a warm Yorkshire welcome."The event is organised by Knaresborough Rotary, Knaresborough & District Chamber and Knaresborough Lions. [caption id="attachment_77329" align="alignnone" width="1008"] The Knaresborough Christmas Market will return on 2nd and 3rd December.[/caption] Getting there Knaresborough is easily accessible by road, rail or bus. The town is less than 5 miles from the A1 and is connected to national transport routes via regular trains from Leeds and York. Parking A free Park and Ride service is available all weekend from the GSPK car park on Manse Lane to Chapel Street, next to the Market Square. Additional paid parking is available at Chapel Street, Fisher Street and York Place. Parking is limited close to the Market Square due to road closures. Public Transport Knaresborough is served by regular buses to and from Harrogate. These leave from the bus station next to the Market Square. The number 36 then provides onward travel to Ripon and Leeds. There are also regular train services to and from York and Leeds. Leeds trains run every 30 minutes and York trains run every hour. Some stalls will accept cards, but you are advised to bring plenty of cash with you. Fireworks Finale There will be a firework display at 4.30pm on Sunday, which can be seen from any viewpoint which overlooks the river area. Pet owners please note that the display lasts for about 20 minutes.
