Children at local hospice enjoy ride in super cars with Knaresborough car dealer Children and families at Martin House Children’s Hospice enjoyed a ‘Super Car Day’ today (Wednesday). Organised by Redline Specialist Cars in Knaresborough, the event saw children given a special ride in one of a number of cars including a Porsche, Ferrari and a Bentley. The day is a regular event for families staying at the hospice in Wetherby and has been taking place for the last ten years. John Graeme, Director at Redline Specialist Cars, said:
“We turn up with three or four cars, take the kids and their families out and give them a good drive around to entertain them for the day. “It’s a fantastic occasion for all the family and we get a lot out of it as well.”[caption id="attachment_75286" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] The Redline and Martin House teams join families on Super Car Day.[/caption] Super Car Day is auctioned as a prize at the annual Martin House Glitter Ball. Claire Holdsworth, CEO at Martin House, said:
“It’s an opportunity for children and the young people we look after to have a go in a super car, which is obviously very appealing as you can see! “Lots of families won’t ever get the opportunity to do this and we can try and make it happen even for those children who need hoisting in. “Martin House is all about giving people experiences and getting the most out of life when we know that it’s going to be short.”Watch our video from the day via Instagram here.
