A woman from Bilton has won a luxurious Valentine's prize package thanks to Your Harrogate and Harrogate BID.
Claire O’Brien was announced as the winner of the Valentine’s-themed competition last week, beating out more than 3,500 entries from across the country – with people from as far as Edinburgh, Luton and Ipswich!
Claire has claimed the Harrogate-themed prize package, which includes a two-night stay at Hotel du Vin, a session at the Turkish Baths, a unique experience at Betty’s and a Harrogate Gift Card worth £100.
She said she found out about the competition through social media and listening to Your Harrogate on the radio,
Claire, who works as an A&E Clinical Support Worker at Harrogate Hospital, said:
“This is absolutely amazing, I’m so, so happy.
“It will be a much needed break and treat to share with my lovely husband. We don’t often get a break together as we have eight children.
“I really appreciate the gifts from the competition – thank you.”
With a total of 3,553 entries to this year’s competition, Harrogate BID said they are “thrilled” with the response, promoting the town to a wider audience.
Sharing the competition across various social media platforms also proved effective, with the posts on Facebook and Instagram receiving more than 25,000 views.
Bethany Allen, Operations and Projects Executive at Harrogate BID, said:
“We’re over the moon with the response to this year’s competition, with a record breaking number of entries!
“As the BID, we know how fantastic our town is as a destination, with a terrific offer all year round – and this competition was a top opportunity to shine a light on this.
“A big congratulations to Claire on winning, we hope she enjoys the romantic getaway with her husband in the jewel in Yorkshire’s crown!”
Harrogate BID’s next event will see the return of the Mothering Funday to the town centre in March, with further details set to be announced over the coming weeks.
