A Pateley Bridge woman has bagged £1,000 directly into her bank account - just for smiling.
We at Your Harrogate, Your Skipton and Your Ilkley teamed up with Raglan Suite for our 1000 smiles competition in which we asked listeners and social media followers to submit their smile to enter the prize draw.
Entrants also posed with their cheesy grins for our Smiles Squad, who visited local events across the area.
And after 1,000 entries, our winner was chosen at random… Sariah Broadhead from Pateley Bridge!
Sariah works at Bishopton Vets and plans to spend the £1,000 on her son.
She said:
“I’m giving it to my son, Bailey. He’s going to university in September and he needs the money! He’s studying Psychology."
On being involved in 1,000 Smiles, Lynn Nichols from The Raglan Suite said:
“It’s just such a lovely thing to do and to give back to the community.
"It’s amazing to be able to give it to your son who’s just starting at university is such a nice thing to do."
