Toymaker's Workshop at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal

Step into a world of Christmas creativity with a Toymaker’s Workshop at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, perfect for little crafty hands.

Kids can choose from four traditional wooden toys to craft and take home.

Clapper Toy: a noisy favourite with ancient roots in Roman and Greek traditions.
Balancing Bird: inspired by Victorian science and Eastern ingenuity.
Catch Toy: from the classic Cup and Ball to global variations like the Kendama.
Marbles Bridge: roll marbles through Tudor-style arches for points and fun.

While the kids get crafty in Swanley Workshop, grown-ups can relax with a hot drink and soak up the twinkly festive atmosphere at Swanley Grange.

Each workshop lasts 30-40 minutes and will be led by our friendly Toymaker, guiding children through the making process with easy-to-follow steps.
