Meet the Policeman at Ripon Police and Prison Museum

History comes alive in the atmospheric Prison and Police museum. Constable Thomas Sweeting was Ripon’s first police officer, and it’s safe to say he had quite a colourful career! Join the man himself (played by actor Mark Cronfield) as he shares tales of crime and punishment in Victorian Ripon as well as his dramatic encounters with the city’s criminal underworld.
Come and hear tales of crime and punishment in Victorian Ripon as actor Mark Cronfield brings the colourful career of Constable Thomas Sweeting to life. In the atmospheric setting of Ripon Prison and Police Museum, you’ll hear about the real story of Ripon’s first Police Officer and his dramatic encounters with the city’s rogues and criminals.
Performances will be at 11:30am, 1:30pm & 2:30pm and are suitable for all the family. So come along and dive into the world of Victorian Ripon with us.
