Red Nose Day: Ashville College raise more than £1,600 for Comic Relief

Ashville College in Harrogate have celebrated Red Nose Day with a non-uniform day, raising £1,626 for Comic Relief in the process. To get into the spirit of the occasion, pupils from its Prep School, Senior School and Sixth Form were encouraged to wear at least one item of clothing, or an accessory, in red. Pupils and teachers wearing non-uniform were also encouraged to make monetary donations to support the Comic Relief charity, that provides valuable funding and support for people across the UK. Catherine Frieze, Assistant Chaplain and member of the College’s Charity Committee, said:

“Red Nose Day is always a great day enjoyed by pupils and staff alike across the whole campus. “Sadly, Covid-19 restrictions meant activities traditionally held during lunch and breaktimes were missing this year, but nonetheless the pupils really enjoyed the day. “Ashville has a long and proud record of supporting charities locally, regionally and nationally, and the last year has seen pupils, staff and alumni undertaking a whole series of charity challenges, from running and cycling, to swimming the English Channel. “I’m delighted to say that at the last count we have raised £1,626 for Comic Relief, and this figure has certainly put a smile on my face!”
