Train drivers are set to stage a series of strikes during the upcoming festive period, causing disruption to Harrogate passengers.

One-day strikes will be held on a number of days in December, whilst a nine-day ban on overtime will also be in place. It’s all part of an ongoing dispute over pay. ASLEF members are staging strikes from Friday 1st until Saturday 9th December. Here are the dates and train operators affected: - Saturday 2nd December: LNER and EMR - Sunday 3rd December: Avanti West Coast, Chiltern, Great Northern Thameslink and WMT - Tuesday 5th December: C2C and Greater Anglia - Wednesday 6th December: Southeastern, Southern/Gatwick Express - Thursday 7th December: CrossCountry and GWR - Friday 8th December: Northern and TPT An Aslef spokesperson said:
“We are determined to win this dispute and get a significant pay rise for train drivers who have not had an increase since 2019, while the cost of living, in that time, has soared.”Aslef has held 14 one-day strikes during the 18-month dispute, causing huge disruption to services across the country. Strikes have also been held since June 2022 by members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union, who are now voting on a deal aimed at resolving their dispute.
