Harrogate's Masterchef star to have stall at Christmas Fayre

Owen Diaram, who competed in BBC MasterChef UK 2023, will be cooking at Harrogate's Christmas Fayre from 1st December.

Harrogate's Masterchef star to have stall at Christmas Fayre Harrogate’s own Masterchef star Owen Diaram is set to host a stall at the town’s Christmas Fayre. Owen has been announced as the winner of The Jolly Big Business Boost - a competition that gave participants the opportunity to trade for free at this year’s Fayre. And competition winner Owen, who reached the quarter finals of Masterchef in 2023, will be bringing his South African-inspired cuisine from 1st December. Owen Diaram, owner of ‘Cook With Owen’, said:

“I am blown away that I have won this year’s Jolly Big Business Boost Competition. “Harrogate has now been my home for the past 8 years and I am so excited to trade at what is a truly fantastic event that will allow me to achieve my goal of bringing South African Indian cuisine to mass audiences.”

The competition aims to support smaller businesses and, to boost their chances of retail success, the winners are also supported by the Christmas Market team with business mentoring and PR opportunities. Nick Rhodes, Market Manager said:
“We at Market Place are passionate about doing our part to support young businesses and helping them with their growth. “The Jolly Big Business Boost is a fantastic way for local, ambitious entrepreneurs to get their foot in the door and has proven to be very successful.”
